Why

Health and happiness. *as individuals and as a society*

Not just the happiness of our favorite club winning, but the joy of being surrounded by like-minded people – other fans, friends, and family. Our community.

Research shows social connections are important for our overall well-being. And that they DIRECTLY matter for our happiness and health.

Football has always brought people together. And while we all might travel to the stadium by different means, wear our club pride in different ways, or cheer at different volumes – it is the game that brings us together, and it is our stories about the game that bind us.

But then…the pandemic hit - our stadiums emptied, and many of those stories disappeared, changed, and were harder than ever to experience and share.

This project is meant to promote and inspire more social cohesion - through the sharing of stories about the game we love.

So...Why? (this project) Put simply – because we need it.

Dr. Vivek Murthy, former Surgeon General of the United States, recently wrote: “Loneliness and weak social connections are associated with a reduction in lifespan similar to that caused by smoking 15 cigarettes a day.” Yes - “loneliness and a lack of social connections are as lethal as smoking 15 cigarettes a day.”

And as one cigarette reduces your lifespan by 11 minutes – it’s important for us. To celebrate and inspire each other, to strengthen the bonds of our community that connect us – and to share our stories and passion for the game we love.

So, please join us (although we are one already) - share your story today.

And help make our world, a healthier, happier place for everyone 😊
